Foundation Supports Crucial Spring Trainings

FDIC: Two Fire EMS team members attended the Fire Department Instructors Conference in April to learn the latest tactics, techniques, and leadership lessons. The Foundation was able to cover all their expenses, including airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation. These training opportunities help improve safety, leadership, and rescue capabilities. The knowledge is then brought back to be shared across the department and ultimately strengthen the safety and preparedness of the entire community. As one attendee shared, "my experience was amazing and I learned so much phenomenal knowledge that I am already bringing back and teaching."

Our Firefighter 1 Academy students continued live fire training designed to simulate real world interior and outdoor fire emergencies. This program combines academic coursework, an introduction to tools and techniques of the trade, and the testing of physical and mental fitness. Eight members recently graduated from the program. The Foundation provided meals during each of these trainings.

This month, members of the Advanced EMT and EMT-Intermediate programs completed more than 240 combined hours of classroom, lab, ER, and ambulance clinical training. Programs like these help strengthen emergency medical care throughout our region and surrounding communities. The class included 9 students: 7 from JH Fire EMS, 1 from Grand Teton National Park, and 1 from Sublette County. The Foundation is contributing towards one paramedic's certification in 2026 and is actively seeking grants to provide more support for members' educational pursuits in coming years.
