JH Fire/EMS Respond to Record Call Volume in July

The Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Department responded to a record number of calls in July, marking the highest call volume on record.  The Department responded to 321 calls for service in July.  The previous high was 289 calls in July 2021.  There were no specific trends in call types.

Overall, the Department has responded to 1,386 calls in 2026.  The call volume is nearing the historic levels of 2021, when by the end of July the yearly call volume had reached 1,395 calls. Historically, July and August are the highest volume months.

July 26’ numbers are as follows:

Fires – 8, Hazardous Situations – 19, Medical – 185, False Alarms/No Emergency – 59, Public Service – 42, Cancelled – 7,  Rescue – 1.

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS is a full-service emergency response agency that manages the fire protection and emergency medical services system for the Town of Jackson and Teton County, Wyoming, covering 4,200 square miles.  Our team includes 149 members: 46 full-time career staff, 82 volunteers, 2 medical directors, 6 chief officers, and 13 in administration, prevention, and emergency coordination.
