FDIC: Two Fire EMS team members attended the Fire Department Instructors Conference in April to learn the latest tactics, techniques, and leadership lessons. On May 13th JH Fire/EMS joined interagency crews on the lightning-caused Spread Creek Fire. The Department had a Type 3 Engine stationed for two days and six firefighters on the Spread Creek Fire. JH Fire/EMS is the largest wildland fire crew in the county with 87 firefighters trained in wildland firefighting. Early Memorial Day morning, crews responded to a significant structure fire at Teton Pines. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and protect surrounding structures. During operations, one firefighter was injured after falling from the structure and was transported to St Johns Health for evaluation and treatment.
