A New Chapter for Hoback Fire Station

A long-awaited milestone has been reached for the future of fire protection in Hoback.

On June 16, the State of Wyoming approved the transfer of land at Hoback Junction to Teton County, clearing the way for construction of a new Hoback Fire Station. The current Station 3, built in 1981, is approximately 2,300 square feet and no longer meets the needs of today's emergency response.

In 2022, Teton County voters approved a $15 million SPET initiative to design and rebuild Hoback Station 3 while also designing a replacement for Wilson Station 2. The Hoback project will include firefighter housing, an essential investment in recruiting and retaining volunteer and career firefighters who serve the southern end of the valley.

As planning and construction costs become finalized, the JH Fire/EMS Foundation will launch a capital campaign to help fund the housing components of both the Hoback and Wilson station projects.
